  1. Plan to arrive before 8:30 A.M. The Opening Assembly will start on time at 8:30 A.M. Incheon dignitaries coming to welcome us all will include the Metro Incheon City Mayor Hon. Song Young Gil, SGUF President Dr. Heeyhon Song, and SGUF Deputy Manager Dr. Juyong Kim to name a few.
  2. Wear your ID the whole conference day. Entry to venue will not be ethical without the ID on. Random registry checks will be made by key conference organizers during the day.
  3. Download the KORCOS Autumn 2012 International Education Conference sessions onto a folder that you can access easily during the day. There will be no printed programs.
  4. The KORCOS Committee strongly suggests for conference attendees to plan their day with back-up session choices in case preference # 1 is full. Sessions may allow standing room.
  5. The KORCOS wiki is readily accessible if bookmarked. http://korcos.wikispaces.com or go through the main site to see everything in the menu http://www.korcos.net
  6. Help the Conference Committee by being mindful of cleanliness and orderliness to help the venue stay in order.
  7. Inspire everyone from your school to bring plenty of money for the raffle (1 ticket = 1,000KRW, 6 tickets = 5,000 KRW and 13 tickets = 10,000 KRW). There’s also plenty of fabulous items to shop for:gems, carpets, books!
  8. One of Seoul’s biggest travel agency, BT&I, will be on conference site to see to your travel needs.
  9. Venue map is on the website.
  10. There will be no free morning snacks but there will be plenty of food and snack vendors on site.
  11. Wi-fi will be available the whole day.
    • If you are in the building with classrooms for the Presentations and Job Alike Sessions,

    • If you are in the Large or Small Theater for the opening/closing ceremony, keynote, and some workshops,

  12. We need to pool photos and videos of the conference. If you are taking any photos, please email to pics@korcos.net.
  13. For those who want university credit, please read the instructions posted under university credit in the KORCOS website menu. Instructions need to be followed carefully and deadlines noted.
  14. Have cell phones on vibrate or silent mode.


UPON ARRIVAL at SGUF:

  1. Enter the 1st floor lobby of the Convention Hall. Make sure IDs are visible.
  2. Presenters and Job Alike Facilitators should pick up their packets from the table labeled PRESENTERS AND JOB ALIKE FACILITATORS PACKETS.
  3. Deposit all raffle gifts on the table labeled RAFFLE DROP OFF.
  4. Presenters Job Alike Facilitators pick up their free morning beverages.
  5. General attendees pick up their ordered morning snacks or go buy their own. Vendors will be close to the Convention Hall.
  6. Enjoy your beverage, clean up your messes, and get seated in the Grand Theater by 8:28 A.M. The Opening Assembly will start on time at 8:30 A.M.
  7. NO FOOD OR DRINKS ARE ALLOWED IN THE GRAND THEATER!!!
  8. Enjoy your day! Inspire and be inspired!


Reminders for Conference Participants

  1. Before conference day on October 26, 2012, you may want to fill in your conference planner for the other sessions that you desire to attend. Go to the conference wiki for KORCOS International Education Conference October 26, 2012 found in the website http://www.korcos.net
  2. Please download the conference program and the venue map. You could save these where you can access them easily during conference day. KORCOS is going green and will not be printing programs or maps.
  3. Wi-Fi pin at SGUF is 1234567890
  4. Make sure you have enough Korean Won. US Dollars are also acceptable by some vendors. You will not want to miss the shopping areas.
  5. Please support the KORCOS Raffle. Raffle money goes into the KORCOS Grant funds.
  6. Wear your ID during the whole conference day. We cannot guarantee your entry into the SGUF venue unless with a KORCOS ID on.
  7. Upon arrival at conference site, go to the Convention Center lobby.
  8. Please pick up your morning beverage by presenting your receipt.
  9. There are other beverage vendors in and outside the lobby.
  10. Please enjoy your beverage and mingle with friends, old and new, in the lobby.
  11. The opening assembly starts at 8:30 A.M. It will be good to be seated a few minutes earlier.
  12. Important reminder: NO FOOD AND NO DRINKS ARE ALLOWED INSIDE THE CONVENTION CENTER.
  13. If you want university credit, read the instructions posted under university credit in the website menu.
  14. Lunch is at your own pace. Vendors inside and outside the cafeteria will sell lunch.
  15. If you have ordered a pre-packed lunch set, go in the cafeteria and present your receipt in exchange for the lunch you have ordered.


REMINDERS for Presenters and Facilitators:

  2. Before conference day on October 26, 2012, you may want to fill out your conference planner for the other sessions that you desire to attend. Please download the conference program and the venue map. Keep them handy for easy access during conference day. KORCOS is going green and will not be printing programs or maps.
  3. For your presentation, please bring your own VGA connector or dongle, your own laptop, charger and extension cord. If you decide to handout printed material, you have to provide this yourself. The KORCOS Committee suggests that you provide an electronic version that you can send to those who request for it.
  4. If possible and also a preference, we also would like to request (not required) for a video of your presentation for uploading on the KORCOS website later. (Ask a friend or colleague to video record for you?)
  5. Please vacate rooms as soon as possible when you’re done to make room for the next presenter/facilitator.
  6. We have a number of vendors this year so make sure you have a lot of Korean Won. US Dollars are also acceptable by some vendors. You will not want to miss the shopping areas.

AS A PRESENTER, WHAT TO DO UPON ARRIVAL AT CONFERENCE SITE:

  1. Go to the Convention Center lobby.
  2. Pick up your Presenter Packet. Meet Ms. Marilou Pagarigan who prepared your packet. In your packet please find your food vouchers, certificate, and a Help! Sheet. On the Help! Sheet, find helpful information such as emergency* contact numbers. If something is amiss, please inform Marilou immediately.
  3. Please pick up your morning beverage from the next table, a token of gratitude from KORCOS.
  4. Please enjoy your beverage and mingle with friends, old and new, in the lobby.
  5. The opening assembly starts at 8:30 A.M. It will be good to be seated a few minutes earlier.

AS A JOB ALIKE FACILITATOR, WHAT TO DO UPON ARRIVAL AT CONFERENCE SITE:

  4. Please be courteous and ensure you finish your presentation ON TIME. This will allow all presenters/facilitators to be able to have some setup time prior to the start of their session.
